Through it all he was loyal with a deep love of family. While Gerry would self proclaim as both an engineer and a stubborn German, our memories favor his open heart, his soft spot for dogs and his big, energetic presence. Gerry’s passions also included gardening, playing classical guitar, singing, BMW motorcycles, listening to music, dancing and storytelling (especially about his exercising). Gerry loved to stay fit and ran, swam and raced bikes for nearly 5 decades. Of Wexford, PA passed away Apafter having battled cancer and head injuries during the last of his 88 years. Those that wish to remember Dennis in a special way may make gift donations in his memory to the COPD Foundation Mihm, Gerry (Volker) A celebration of life will be held this summer 2023 in Oceanside, CA. There will be no immediate service of remembrance. On top of many construction jobs in CA and PA, Dennis was self-employed by The Handyman Specialist in PA from 2001 to 2020.
Dennis graduated from North Allegheny High in 1969. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jay Raymond. Surviving are his daughters Heather Richelle and her husband Hans Benjamin Laske of Greenville, TX, and Jazmine Dawn Kozminski of Temecula, CA four grandchildren, Bäer Wolfgang, Wylder Reinhardt and Hollie Rowan Laske, and Mackenzie Iviana two brothers Gregg Thomas of Beaver, PA, and Dale Alan of Mercer, PA, and one sister, Sharon “Shay” Smith (Joseph) of Fallbrook, CA and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was the son of the late James Raymond and Ruth Christine Kozminski. Age 71, died unexpectedly Apin his home in Beaver, PA.
